Charlie Price joined Greenspace in 2023 and serves as the Greenspace treasurer, focusing on fiduciary management. Charlie has also played an instrumental role in establishing the Greenspace’s new Endowment Fund.
With a B.A. in biology from a small liberal arts college. He worked for 12 years as a research assistant in marine biology including at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and Scripps Institution of Oceanography. He further pursued research and then went into manufacturing management at a small private company making reverse osmosis and ultrafiltration membranes- and ultimately served as the CEO of this company.
Charlie has always carried a profound appreciation for the environment. From childhood, he had exposure to open water systems and grew up sailing and racing every weekend from 8-18 years old on the Chesapeake Bay on a 45-foot sailboat. He also has gone on open ocean trips including one trans-Atlantic trip from Bermuda to Ireland!
Charlie has lived in Cambria for 6 years, moving from San Diego, where he lived for 47 years. In his free time, Charlie practices the art of woodworking and utilizes classical joinery; hand-cut dovetail and mortice and tenon construction. He also enjoys walking, hiking, golf and birdwatching and loves spending time in the coastal Monterey pine forest and catching spectacular views of the ocean from the forest.
